Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Tetra (“Tetra”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Tetra, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Tetra for a company or project, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these Terms for it.
Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and legally able to enter this agreement.
- You may not use Tetra if you’re barred by sanctions or applicable law, or from a place where using it would be unlawful.
- One person, one account. Creating or controlling more than one account is not allowed.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate information, including your payout address.
How Tetra works
Tetra is a marketplace. Project owners post and fund bounties. Contributors complete them and receive rewards. Each bounty’s page sets out what to do, what to submit, the reward, and the timing; by submitting, you accept those bounty terms together with these Terms. The detailed rules are described in our docs, which form part of these Terms.
Tetra isn’t a party to the work between project owners and contributors, and doesn’t employ contributors. We run the platform, hold funds as described below, and enforce the rules.
Funding bounties and fees
- A bounty goes live only after its full amount is received: the rewards plus Tetra’s platform fee of 5% of the rewards. We do not charge judging fees.
- You can fund in USDC on Stellar, or in other tokens swapped into USDC by a third party (NEAR Intents). Swap quotes, rates and refunds are provided by that third party.
- The Tetra platform fee is earned when a bounty goes live and isn’t refundable.
- Rewards that aren’t paid out (unfilled spots, prizes without an eligible entry) are returned to the project owner’s Tetra balance when the bounty ends.
- Once live, a bounty can’t be withdrawn or reduced, because contributors rely on it. Its owner may reword it and extend its deadline, but not change its rewards, spots or review window.
How we hold funds
Funds are held by Tetra in USDC on the Stellar network, in accounts we control, and recorded in a ledger showing how much belongs to each bounty and each user. Balances aren’t bank deposits, don’t earn interest, and aren’t insured by any government scheme. USDC is issued by a third party and its value and availability depend on that issuer. We may use balances only to pay rewards, refunds and withdrawals, and fees owed to Tetra.
Reviews, disputes and judging
- Tasks: each submission must be reviewed within the window the project chose (48 hours to 4 weeks). Submissions not reviewed in time are approved and paid automatically, unless flagged by our screening.
- Rejections must include a reason. A contributor may dispute a rejection once, within 72 hours of it. Tetra reviews disputes and its decision is final.
- A rejected submission’s spot reopens straight away, whether or not it’s disputed, and anyone else can take it. A dispute can only be paid while the bounty still has a free spot: if every spot is filled before Tetra decides it, or the bounty closes, the disputed submission isn’t paid.
- Contests: the project owner picks winners within the judging window and must award every prize for which there are eligible entries. Project owners can’t reject contest entries; only Tetra can disqualify an entry, and that decision is final. If the owner doesn’t judge in time, Tetra judges; if Tetra doesn’t within 7 days, the prize pool is split evenly among eligible entries.
- Submissions from accounts linked to a project owner can only be approved, or awarded prizes, by Tetra.
- For contests, winners receive their prizes immediately once announced by the project owner or Tetra, and the contest completes.
- Tetra may review, approve, reject or withhold any submission or prize to enforce these Terms.
Withdrawals
- You can withdraw your balance in USDC to the payout address saved on your account (minimum 1 USDC). Saving or changing that address requires a code we email you.
- After you replace a payout address, withdrawals to the new address are held for 24 hours, and we email you about the change.
- For security, the treasury needs more than one signature, and Tetra approves each withdrawal before it’s sent. This usually takes 1–2 hours but can take longer.
- You’re responsible for giving a correct address and, for exchange accounts, the correct memo. Stellar transactions can’t be reversed; we can’t recover funds sent to a wrong address or without a required memo.
- The receiving account must be able to hold USDC. If a withdrawal fails, the amount returns to your balance.
- Some bounties pay rewards into the project’s own app. Their rewards are sent, once approved, to the wallet address (and memo) you gave with your submission, not to your balance or saved payout address. We check the address can receive USDC, not who controls it: you’re responsible for giving the right one, and the project owner for checking it belongs to their app before approving. If the payment fails, the reward goes to your Tetra balance.
- We may delay or refuse a withdrawal while we investigate suspected fraud or a breach of these Terms, or where the law requires.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting to a bounty, you grant the project owner a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce and share your submission to promote and improve their product, unless the bounty says otherwise. You grant Tetra the right to display submissions and results on Tetra. You confirm your submission is your own work, doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights, and isn’t unlawful. Project owners confirm they have the rights to the names, logos and material they post.
Fair play and prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- use more than one account, or coordinate accounts, to enter a bounty or collect rewards;
- use bots or automation to submit, or submit work that isn’t yours;
- approve your own submissions through another account, or award prizes to accounts you control;
- post bounties for anything unlawful, deceptive, or that asks people to hand over funds, keys or personal data (including through the questions on a submission form; never ask for passwords, secret keys or recovery phrases);
- harass anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content;
- interfere with Tetra, test its security without permission, or get around our screening.
To enforce this, Tetra collects device and network signals and compares accounts. See the Privacy Policy.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or that we reasonably suspect of fraud. While suspended, you can’t submit, post bounties or withdraw, and open submissions may be rejected. Where rewards were obtained through fraud or multiple accounts, we may withhold or reverse them and return the funds to the bounty’s project owner. You can stop using Tetra at any time; you can still withdraw a legitimate balance.
Taxes
You’re responsible for any taxes on rewards you receive or bounties you fund, and for reporting them where required.
Third-party services
Tetra relies on third parties, including the Stellar network, USDC’s issuer, NEAR Intents for swaps, Google for sign-in, and providers for hosting, email and images. We aren’t responsible for their services, outages, fees or decisions, and your use of them may be subject to their terms.
Disclaimers
Tetra is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about uninterrupted availability or the quality of any bounty or submission. Blockchain networks and digital assets carry risks, including network failures and changes in value.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Tetra isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Tetra is limited to the greater of the fees you paid Tetra in the 12 months before the claim and 100 USDC. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we’ll tell you by email or on Tetra before it takes effect. Continuing to use Tetra after that means you accept the new Terms. Bounties already live keep the rules they were posted with.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of nigeria, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
